When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue and honor them. -Psalm 91:15(NLT)
FAITHFUL PROTECTOR
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you going through some tough times?
Have you been attacked by evil thoughts and lies?
There is a God who is faithfully protecting you
Call on him and he will see you through.
He said that when you call on him, he will be there
He will rescue and you will not be ensnared
He is faithful in watching over you all day
He will guard you from evil in every way.

Insurance is a thing providing protection against a possible eventuality. It is a big business in America. In Ontario alone, you cannot drive without insuring your vehicle. There have been crimes done just so insurance benefits could be claimed. What many people do not know is that there is a bigger and faithful person who can ensure our security and protection. This person is the Lord Almighty God.
In Psalms, we are reminded of the promise of God to those who call on Him. He said that they will be protected from trouble and that he will rescue and honor them. What a great promise to depend on. It is free and unlimited unlike the insurances we get from the world. They can’t give total coverage, God can. Believe and have him cover you.
PRAYER
Thank you for your faithful unlimited protection.

MUCH IS EXPECTED WHEN THEY HAVE MUCH
A poem and essay by ILMA
Have you ever experienced an overflow of blessings?
Did you wonder where and why it kept on coming?
There is a responsibility that comes with all gifts
Much will be required in return for all these things.
When someone is given and entrusted much
They will be expected to share and have more trust
No need to keep and hoard it and continue to be passive
Grow it! Boldly share your gifts in order to be progressive.
________________________________________Since my early thirties up to now, I have had an overflow of gifts from God. Maybe I have had them even in my early years and probably my whole life. I just didn’t recognize them at all because I was wrapped up in the circumstances that was presented to me during the different stages of my life. I think that in my early thirties, I re-committed myself to God and that’s when I saw his perspective. I was driven to share the natural gifts and abilities I had for communication, teaching, the Visual, Musical and Literary Arts. God had a plan all along. The bible says that when someone has been given much, much is required from them as well.
PRAYER
Help me to do what you want for your kingdom for the overflow you gave me.
REFLECTION
What has God given you that needs to be returned?

You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet. -Psalm 91:13(NLT)
CRUSHING THE ENEMY
A poem and essay by ILMA
Believers were given authority to trample on lions and serpents
To take full control and power to win, we must confess and repent
If you obey God’s will and use the sword of the Spirit, the devil will flee
One of his tactics is to generate lies so you cannot hear truth or see.
Run to the throne each time you experience all his attacks
This is the only way you can expose him and fight back
You cannot do it in your own strength or you will lose
Allow God to do the fighting and remain faithful and true.

One night I was asleep and felt a power hovering on top of my head in the pitch black darkness in our master’s bedroom. My husband was in deep sleep but I was awakened by this feeling that there was moving spirits hovering on top of my body. I usually have verses printed on paper beside me in the bed and memorize them before I went to bed. I just memorized a parallel verse to Psalm 91:13, Luke 10:19 that night before bed. I was able say out loud the verse says that I have power over the enemy and crush him and that I will not be harmed. The hovering spirit flee.
PRAYER
Thank you for the authority you have given me Lord.

PROTECTED BY ANGELS
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you know that God is faithful to those who love him?
He’s always with you and wants you to repent of your sins
He orders his angels to protect you wherever you go
Let God’s word be planted in your hearts so it can grow.
He has given you authority to trample and crush the enemy
You need to declare in his might name so you can have victory
His angels are encamped around you and protects you constantly
Look forward to all his promises so you can prosper continually.

We live in a war zone. Ephesians 6:12 says: For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. This verse tells us that we are in a daily battle with someone we don’t visually see. How can we win with a war when we don’t see the enemy? This whole chapter written by Paul to the Ephesians is a guide to all believers how to do spiritual combat with the enemy. We are instructed to put on all of God’s armor and reminded in Psalms 91 that God orders his angels to protect you wherever you go.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your reinforcements to protect me.

If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. -Psalm91:9(NLT)
NO EVIL WILL CONQUER GOD’S PEOPLE
A poem and essay by ILMA
If you run to the one true God, he will give you refuge
Believe in him and no one can really crush you
If you make Jesus your shelter and sanctuary
You will overcome sin and have victory.
Everything is created by God and he has power
You need not be afraid for the enemy will cower
There is no other shelter safer than the Almighty
Remember to abide in him so you will have security.

There is really nowhere safe in this world we live in. There is so much noise, disorder and
greed surrounding us. The bible says that as long as we are living in this place, we will have trouble. We, humans like to think that we are able to take care of ourselves and protect us from evil around us. The truth is, the devil is the ruler of this world (John 12:31). So as long as we are alive, we will have struggles being good because the world’s standard is all about selfishness, greed and control.
The bible gives us another alternative to thrive in this world. Run to the one true God for shelter because he will ensure you protection.
PRAYER
Thank you for protecting those who seek you Lord.
REFLECTION
Why do you think that people don’t run to God even though we know he can protect us?

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4(NLT)
GOD COVERS YOU WITH HIS PROMISES
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you find yourself getting beaten up by unseen forces?
Run to God’s word and look up all his faithful promises
You will find many assurances of his love for his children
You are protected by all his army of angels from heaven.
Never allow the enemy to bring you down with his lies
Seek the Lord first and you will find comfort in his light
He will shelter you with his wings, he gives you his armor
Always put it on so that you will end up the victor.

Have you ever been let down with a broken promise by someone? I was surrounded by people who never kept their promises while I was growing up. It crushed my spirit and made me feel like I wasn’t important and that I did not matter. I learned not to trust anyone as a young girl because they just break my heart each time they don’t fulfill what they promised. As a result, I told myself that I will be a promise keeper and do my best to fulfill whatever I vow to do.
The bible tells us that God is the ultimate promise keeper. His promises protect us from the devil’s lies.
PRAYER
Reveal to me promises when I feel so let down Lord.

A SAFE PLACE Poem Devotional

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God and I trust him. -Psalm 91:2(NLT)
A SAFE PLACE
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you feel unsafe in your surroundings
You can run to God for refuge, he is waiting
There is nowhere safer than in his unfailing love
Bring all your concerns to him up above.
When you feel threatened and dejected
Just remember Christ was also rejected
Trust only in him, he alone can provide
Seek him and you will go for a really good ride.
________________________________________
I had a traumatic childhood and there was nowhere for me to go safe. I was called names, belittled, ridiculed, neglected, mishandled, yelled at, and many more. Because I was very small when I started experiencing these mishandlings, I didn’t have anywhere to run. My grandfather was one of those safe persons I took refuge from. I only see him very seldom during the summer breaks. It was such a treat to be seen, heard and respected by him. The sad thing is that he was also surrounded by people who mistreated him, people he loves. During those times that I cannot access my grandpa, I learned to talk to Jesus daily. On my walk to school, I would talk to him aloud and tell him all my pain. The bible says, God is our only safe refuge. We can trust him and he is reliable.
PRAYER
Remind me to always seek refuge in you Lord.

LET MY MOUTH PRAISE YOU Poem Devotional

Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. – Psalm 51:15(NLT)
LET MY MOUTH PRAISE YOU
A poem and essay by ILMA
Lord, you are awesome and praiseworthy
Everything you’ve created amazes me
Let me only have praise in my mouth
Help me only to let kind words out.
Unseal my lips so I can glorify you
Change me and have my mind renewed
Cleanse my heart so I can only say pure words
Help me rend my tongue so I can overcome this world.
________________________________________
You might have heard the saying that if you have nothing better to say, don’t open your mouth. It is natural for us to see and say the negative but supernatural to have the prudence to control what comes out of it. The bible says in James that if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could control ourselves in every other way. He also mentions that the tongue is a flame of fire, a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself; that people can tame all kinds of animals but no one can tame the tongue which is evil and full of deadly poison. Isn’t this so true? We could have saved some relationships if we were able to control it. We ought to only open our lips to praise God.
PRAYER
Help me rend my tongue Lord!

How can we discipline and control what comes out our mouths?

PRAYER FOR RESTORATION Poem Devotional

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you. Psalm 51:10-12(NLT)
PRAYER FOR RESTORATION
A poem and essay by ILMA
Lord, I feel tired and overwhelmed by adversities
The enemy has kept me busy with much activities
My peace was compromised and I am feeling helpless
Reveal to me why I feel so much emptiness.
Create in me a clean heart and renew my loyalty
Do not take away your Holy Spirit from me
Restore me the joy of your salvation and help me obey
I plead you to give me heal and strengthen me each day.
________________________________________
There are days I wake up in a very sad mood. It usually happens when I get very busy with many activities and when I don’t have time to reflect at the end of the day. I usually journal and have a conversation with God each morning when I wake up but sometimes don’t have time to pray before bedtime because I am still finishing a project or chore.
The bible summons us to pray for restoration and cleansing of our hearts. It is important to remember that we must never grieve the Holy Spirit so we can hear what he is teaching or convicting us with.
PRAYER
Lord, I need you especially when I am weak and overwhelmed.
REFLECTION
Why is it important for us to have quiet moments with God daily?
