PSALM 119
145 With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD!
I will keep your statutes.146 I call to you; save me,
that I may observe your testimonies.
147 I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.
148 My eyes are awake before the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promise.
149 Hear my voice according to your steadfast love;
O LORD, according to your justice give me life.
150 They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose;
they are far from your law.151 But you are near, O LORD,
and all your commandments are true.
152 Long have I known from your testimonies
that you have founded them forever.
– Psalm 119:145-152

PSALM 119 WHEN YOU MEDIATE ON GOD’S WORD & PROMISES
A poem inspired by this psalm by ILMA
My mind and heart can be full of concerns with the world
O Lord, grant me a constant longing to meditate on your word
Hear my plea for deliverance from distractions and wickedness
Make your path straight before me so I will choose righteousness
Let me reflect and remember all your promises to those whom you love
Keep my anxiety minimal and change it to rely and constantly trust.
Give me wisdom to discern spirits and guide me to do what is right
Help me to exercise love and gentleness when things don’t seem bright
When I meditate on your word, I begin to understand what seems unclear
When I stand on your promises, I let go of despair and become hopeful
Come close to me Lord as I draw nearer to you each and every moment
Let me grow in the fear of you and in my reliance in your omnipotence.
