PSALM 36 PRAYER FOR PROTECTION FROM ARROGANCE
7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house,
and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light do we see light.
10 Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
11 Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the evildoers lie fallen;
they are thrust down, unable to rise. – Psalm 14:7-12

My Lord, you are the fountain of life and the light to our paths
Let us take shelter from you and let us feast in your steadfast love
Grant us your blessings and protect us from our inclination to selfishness
Without your presence, we are inclined to arrogance and unrighteousness
Continue to shower us with your unconditional love and grace
Don’t let arrogance visit us and aways lead us to follow your ways.
Keep us from wicked people and make us discern their plots
Give us a heart that seeks only your will and your plans
How faithful you are that you continue to grant us grace
Comfort us when things around us seem to fall apart
Give us humility that we will always put you first in all things
Never let our pride get in the way of praising you so we can avoid sin.
