Selah 10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you; the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt. 11 Make your vows to the LORD your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, 12 who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth. – Psalm 76:8-12 ________________________________________ A poem inspired by this psalm by ILMA All you kings and rulers of the earth, be warned Fear the Lord for he is your maker and the judge Never think that your authority is from your own There is one source of supremacy; that is your Lord God He allowed you to have authority over your domain Do not forget that he placed you on that role for a reason He gives and he takes; he creates and he destroys Make use of your position to give him all the glory He alone knows each person from the inside out He expects gratitude from those whom he bestowed power Rule over your realm with humility and a dependence on God He will grant you discernment, power and wisdom Use every opportunity you are given to bring praise to your Lord That is the only way you can beat the evil systems of this world Fear the Lord your God for he alone sees and judges the earth Do not ever think highly of the position given to you or even boast. ________________________________________ REFLECTION • Why is it a good reminder for leaders to bow down to the absolute authority?
