PREACH THE WORD AND FINISH THE RACE
A poem by ILMA
I plead you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus who’ll judge us someday
He will come to hold accountable all the living and the dead on the last day
So, preach the word of the Lord and always be ready
Patiently correct, rebuke and encourage one another with good teaching.
There will come a time when people will stop listening to the truth
They will be more concerned with their own desires and reject the word
They will look for teachers who will tell them what they want to hear
They will close their hearts to sound teaching and chase after myths.
Make sure you keep your mind clear and pure in every situation
Do not be afraid of suffering if it is for the cause of the Lord
Work at telling others the Good News and continue to spread it
Fully carry out the ministry God has given you with the help of the Spirit.
Fight the good fight; never give up and remain faithful
Press on to finish the race for there will be a reward for you
The crown of righteousness which will be handed to you by the Lord
It will be there for you to receive when he returns and judge us all.

MEMORY VERSE
Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. – 2 Timothy 4:2
Read: 2 Timothy 4
In this letter of Paul to Timothy, he urges all the believers to spread the gospel. It is sad to see many Christians that do not actually live this mandate out. We are supposed to be responsible for each other’s growth with good teaching and live with each other in love.

REFLECTION
• Do you actually preach the Good News? Who have you brought to the Lord by preaching the gospel to them?
