He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God and I trust him. -Psalm 91:2(NLT)
A SAFE PLACE
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you feel unsafe in your surroundings
You can run to God for refuge, he is waiting
There is nowhere safer than in his unfailing love
Bring all your concerns to him up above.
When you feel threatened and dejected
Just remember Christ was also rejected
Trust only in him, he alone can provide
Seek him and you will go for a really good ride.

I had a traumatic childhood and there was nowhere for me to go safe. I was called names, belittled, ridiculed, neglected, mishandled, yelled at, and many more. Because I was very small when I started experiencing these mishandlings, I didn’t have anywhere to run. My grandfather was one of those safe persons I took refuge from. I only see him very seldom during the summer breaks. It was such a treat to be seen, heard and respected by him. The sad thing is that he was also surrounded by people who mistreated him, people he loves. During those times that I cannot access my grandpa, I learned to talk to Jesus daily. On my walk to school, I would talk to him aloud and tell him all my pain. The bible says, God is our only safe refuge. We can trust him and he is reliable.
PRAYER
Remind me to always seek refuge in you Lord.
REFLECTION
When was the last time you ran to the Lord for safety?

December 7                                                              The Power of God’s Word
My God is my rock, my fortress and my Savior; my God is my rock in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my Savior, the one who saves me from violence. I called on the Lord who is worthy of praise and He saved me from my enemies.
-2 Samuel 22:3-4(NLT)
A SAFE PLACE
A poem and essay by ILMA
Where do you run, when someone chases you?
Who can deliver you from ungodly views?
Who will be your fortress to protect you from evil?
How do you hide from the tactics of the devil?
God is my rock, my fortress and my Savior
He will not allow me to be consumed and devoured
He is my refuge, the one who saves me from violence
He is worthy of praise, omnipotence and magnificence.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed with burdens? Do you seek comfort from a friend or family? Do you go to a favorite spot to clear your mind? The bible tells us that God is our rock and our fortress. He is the shield that will protect us and keep us safe especially when in trouble. Run to the throne for refuge
PRAYER
Lord, let me only seek your refuge and no one else.
REFLECTION
Why is it important to seek God’s help first than any other human being?
