Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
-Psalm 119:37 (NLT)
LIFE THROUGH THE WORD
A poem and essay by ILMA
Each time you consult the word
You will find out more about the world
It makes you see things clearly
It guides you to live life righteously.
Turn your eyes from worthless things
God’s word will make you overcome sin
You will be alive when you obey his commands
It makes you learn to deal with life’s demands.

When I became born again and started studying his word, my whole life changed. I didn’t realize that all the years before that, I was dead. It wasn’t a physical death. I was dead because I was living in sin and out of God’s will. I had no peace or joy because I didn’t know how much loved I was. I wasn’t aware of all of God’s promises until I got to the word of God. It was Scriptures that convicted me of all the wrong things I have done. It was also in His truth that he changed my point of view about the things that really matters in life. I realized how shallow I was. I lived in the world’s standard instead of living a spiritual life.
The bible taught me what are more important while we live in this world. It taught me how to live the life God wants me to live.

USE THE MOST POWERFUL NAME Poem devotional
June 12________________________________________
Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name! – Luke 10:17 (NLT)
USE THE MOST POWERFUL NAME
A poem and essay by ILMA
Have you encountered challenging situations in your life?
Try using the most powerful name and you will take delight
Even the demons will obey you when you use Jesus’ name
Every knee will bow down to this title of God’s Son.
If you have faith in the omnipotence of Christ
When you declare this name, everything comes to light
God has given this name dominion over everything
As soon as you utter it, you will constantly win.

It is sad to know that some believers do not often use the name of the Lord Jesus to ward off evil, to expose lies or to discern the tactics of the enemy. The bible says in Philippians 2:9-11 this, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” Wow! Have you ever heard of any other names that can have that power?
Names are very important because it signifies the character and the person himself. Only the name of Jesus has that power to win over sin and evil.

PRAYER
Jesus, I praise your holy name. Help me to say it out loud to praise you.
REFLECTION
What happens if you take the name of Jesus in vain?

SEARCHING WHOLEHEARTEDLY Poem Devotional
May 29________________________________________
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. -Jeremiah 29:13(NLT)
SEARCHING WHOLEHEARTEDLY
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you search wholeheartedly for Jesus Christ
He will satiate your hunger for him in your life
Those who seek will surely find him
In their hearts will live his Holy Spirit.
He will only show himself to those who abide
He sees your heart, so don’t entertain pride
Guard that your mind, soul and spirit are his’ alone
It will bring you victory when you trust in his precious Son.

Treasure hunting doesn’t need to be expensive. You don’t really have to be part of an exploration team in order to reap the fruits of this adventurous hobby. You can go hunting for treasures in your own home, old places, neighborhood, thrift shops or even abandoned places. I love a show in Britain that features a well awarded lady designer who goes to the junkyard before people throw away their stuff. In each episode, she tries to salvage three items that she will convert into an upcycled product or totally re-use it for a different purpose. It is amazing how she converts junk into money making treasures.
I love to go through thrift shops, garage sales or even look at what people throw away in the curbs along their houses.
The bible says that if you search wholeheartedly for the Lord, you will find him, just like discovering a treasure.

Lord, keep me hunting for your truths and promises.

WHEN TO GIVE Poem Devotional
March 2

On the first day of each week you should put aside a portion of the money you have earned. -1 Corinthians 16:2(NLT)
WHEN TO GIVE
A poem and essay by ILMA
To give is more blessed than to receive
We honor the Lord when we give
On the first day of each week
A portion of our wage we must give.
When you cheerfully give, you are praising him
It keeps you from selfishness and all kinds of sins
God is generous to provide us all our needs
Why don’t we make him first when we give?

Billy Graham said “We have found in our own home, as have thousands of others, that God’s blessing upon the nine-tenths, when we tithe, helps it to go farther than ten-tenths without His blessing. Other Christians who tithe do so simply because they respect the Old Testament principle and find it a helpful place to begin in their giving. The matter of your giving is between you and God, and He always takes into account our circumstances. He knows when they are beyond our power to direct and control. The important thing is that we see giving as a privilege and not a burden. It should not be out of a sense of duty, but rather out of love for the Lord and a desire to see His kingdom advanced.”
When you prioritize giving to God’s kingdom, you are honoring him.

PRAYER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE
A poem and essay by ILMA
I am so grateful that you have blessed me Lord!
I feel great when other followers spread your word
I am filled with joy that they are my partners
Thank you for granting us a chance to encourage each other.
I pray that you shower us with strength and persistence
I am glad that you allow us to grow our wisdom and patience
May we always choose to tread that narrow path to your kingdom
May you continue to keep us safe and to continually enjoy freedom.

It is amazing how the Lord brings people in our lives to encourage us and to grow our faith. When I became born again, the Lord changed all of my friends. He discarded those who weren’t going to bring me closer to him. Each day, I thank the Lord for allowing me to grow spiritually and being given opportunities to minister to those who are hurting and neglected and especially those who do not know him. I am praying for all those who are my partners in spreading the Good News.

Thank you for letting me freely tell others about you Lord.
