BELIEVERS COURAGEOUSLY WITNESS & SHARE
A poem by ILMA
After Peter and John were released by the leading priests and elders
The believers heard the report and lifted their voices in prayer
“O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth and everything in it
You spoke long ago through David how nations were so angry.”
David prophesied how the kings and rulers gathered against the Lord
They all teamed up together to condemn and crucify the Messiah
In fact, all this happened right in this very city in Israel
But everything they did was already determined long ago.
The believers all pray “Lord, hear their threats and give us courage
We ask for you to give all your servants boldness in preaching the word
Stretch out your hand with healing power so that we can do signs and wonders”
After this, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they preached boldly.
All believers were united in heart and mind and felt a need to share everything
They felt compelled that what they owned was not their own but for everyone
The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
God greatly blessed them and there were no needy people among them.

BOLDNESS FROM THE LORD Poem Devotional

September 6________________________________________
But the apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. And the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders. – Acts 14:3(NLT)
BOLDNESS FROM THE LORD
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you declare the word of the Lord
He will give you boldness to proclaim his word
His apostles confidently preached the Good news
They were not afraid to face any kinds of threat or abuse.
Their faith was so strong that they were able to do wonders
They healed the sick and bring many people to think and ponder
Such courage only came upon them by the grace of Jesus
He will bless and prosper anyone who believes, they are all precious.

There are many confident people who does not know the Lord. Anyone who have such assurance to declare or do something for their own pleasure is not the same as having boldness to do things for the Lord Jesus Christ. I used to be a haughty person, speaking confidently about all that I know and the things I excelled in. Yes, I can be able to show off to others my talents and abilities, but if I do it so that I can be praised, it isn’t for God’s glory that they are doing it. The bible says that he will be with anyone who will boldly proclaim the Good News.

PRAYER
Lord, help me to have the boldness to always spread your word.
REFLECTION
How is the world’s concept of boldness different from God’s vision of it?

HAVE COURAGE! GOD IS WITH YOU
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you beset by an illness or failed relationship?
Have courage and don’t be afraid of hardships
Trials and challenges come to each and every person
Continue to believe in Christ who died and was risen.
God is with you always and will not leave
Better to cling to him so you will receive
Blessings and mercy are bountiful to those who love
Seek his kingdom and keep your eyes on him up above.

Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens one or the strength in the face of pain or grief. For someone to be called courageous or brave we can deduce that fear factor was handled successfully by that person. Courage is not absence of fear but it is victory over it. There are 365 verses in the bible that mentions fear. Why would God warn us about what we fear or feel insecure about?
The bible says that we must be strong to do the work he asked us to do. He reassures us that we will not fail in doing his work, for he will never forsake us. He is with us always.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your presence in our life.
REFLECTION
When was the last time you were afraid and felt God’s presence comforting you?

Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent. For I am with you and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me. –Acts 18:9-10(NLT)
SPEAK OUT!
A poem and essay by ILMA
A child of God is unafraid of the world
He or she is bold and loves the Lord
Believers trust and depend on God’s protection
They have faith and are hopeful for his provision.
Christians speak out gently and in love
They praise their heavenly father up above
They have confidence that nothing can harm them
They look forward to be freed and redeemed.

There are many people who are afraid to speak out. Most abused individuals live in fear of speaking the truth. There are also people who are just tactless and insensitive to other people’s feelings. They hurt others with their words. I used to air my opinion freely and sometimes I hurt others by doing so. The bible talks about how we should be bold and speak out, but also tells us to do so gently, kindly and lovingly.
The Lord tells his people to be unafraid. There are 365 times that the word “Do not fear” or “Do not be afraid” mentioned in the bible. It must be very important to God that we are fearless and bold. The only fear he wants us to have is the fear of the Lord or reverence for him.
PRAYER
Give me courage to be bold Lord.
REFLECTION
When was the last time you boldly declared your faith in God to others?
