DANGEROUS TRAP FOR HUMANS Poem Devotional

December 9________________________________________
“Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” – Matthew 16:23(NLT)
DANGEROUS TRAP FOR HUMANS
A poem and essay by ILMA
When we are enticed to boast about knowing things
We are in a dangerous trap for humans set by the devil
Take authority against evil and rebuke it
If you don’t, you will be ensnared to listen to it.
Watch out when you rely on human reasoning
It is the devil’s tactic to keep you falling and failing
Satan will make you proud so you’ll miss God’s viewpoint
Abide in the Lord and he will make the victor.

One of the tactics of Satan is to trap us. The most common way he steals from us is by keeping us imprisoned in our minds. This is why we are always cautioned in the bible to renew our mind and make it captive to Christ. This is what we humans easily fall into. Satan wants to keep us thinking that we can be equal with God. He steals our trust in God’s power and wisdom and entices us to think that we can rely on our human efforts and reasoning.
When we think highly of ourselves, we have commenced competition with God. This opens doors to more sins. Watch out and don’t trust your own thinking, but seek God’s viewpoint. You’ll fall easily when you do.

PRAYER
Lord, deliver me from the tactics of the enemy.
REFLECTION
How can one easily detect the dangerous traps set by the devil?

The mighty man has been destroyed. Yes, your insolence is ended. For the Lord has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule. -Isaiah 14:4-5(NLT)
MIGHTY MAN DESTROYED
A poem and essay by ILMA
There is no one more powerful than God
The enemy entices us not to bring him laud
Never be afraid of the mighty man
His power is just like any other human.
The devil knows that he is going to be defeated
That is why he uses tricks to make us all tempted
He appears to be mighty and powerful
He is actually a fraud, weak and deceitful.

How do you win a battle? First, you have to know your enemy. Many defeats happen because of lack of strategy and knowledge. We have to acknowledge and get familiar with our opponent for us to be able to win and overcome. In many athletic competition, there are rules that need to be followed in order to win tournaments or races. When the participants don’t follow the rules, they get disqualified.
Our enemy, the devil has another title, the mighty man. He likes to think that he is powerful but without doubt God is the only one who has all power and all might. The enemy’s tactic is to deceive you that he has great control but since Jesus was born, he has already been destroyed and defeated. The perfect obedience of Christ crushed him.
PRAYER
Lord, remind me never to allow the mighty man to control me.
REFLECTION
Why is it important to know your opponent when in a battle?

THE DECEIVER OF THE WORLD Poem Devotional

This great dragon – the ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world-was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. –Revelations 12:9 (NLT)
THE DECEIVER OF THE WORLD
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you think of things contrary to God’s truth?
The devil doesn’t want God’s word to take root
He steals, kills and destroys everyone he can deceive
He doesn’t want people to know the truth and believe.
The cross of Christ defeated the world’s greatest deceiver
He has no power over those who are true and faithful believers
When you closely walk with God in love and in his word
You are no longer a prey to the deceiver of this world.

There are many Christian who do not acknowledge the reality of the existence of the devil. This is another ploy of Satan to deceive people that he isn’t real because humans cannot see him. This is how he is able to manipulate our minds by planting lies that could have been handed down to us long before we were even born. The bible clearly identifies Satan. I don’t understand how some believers wouldn’t even to acknowledge his existence for fear that he can do them harm.
In Genesis, we recount Eve being deceived by a serpent in the Garden of Eden. Revelations 12 describes the devil or Satan as a dragon and a serpent who is the greatest deceiver of the world.
PRAYER
Lord, protect me from Satan’s deception.
REFLECTION
How can we guard ourselves from the devil’s deception?

THE UNTOUCHABLES Poem Devotional

pinery camping 2014 and others 552

January 3
We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s son holds them securely and the evil one cannot touch them. – 1 John 5:18 (NLT)
THE UNTOUCHABLES
A poem and essay by ILMA
When we are closely walking with the Son
We are the untouchables to the evil one
Engaging in sin is not an option to God’s people
They seek and obey the Lord in all of life’s seasons
Whatever challenges they encounter, they bow down
They are always thankful that they have found
The evil one cannot touch them; they are protected
Believers will win; God guards their hearts when tempted.
How do you gauge if you are a true believer? The bible says that we know God’s people because they do not make a practice of sinning. It doesn’t mean that they are flawless and perfect, but their righteousness is clearly manifested in their humble acceptance of their sins, their confession and their declaration that God can heal and forgive them. The apostle John clearly expounds on the security that God provides to his people. He calls God’s children as “untouchables.” He emphasizes how God holds them securely and protects them from harm from the evil one. As soon as we declare Christ as our Savior, we begin to live in the light (1 John 1:7) and have authority over the devil (Luke 10:9).
PRAYER
Thank you for your protection, Lord.
REFLECTION
How can we strengthen God’s protection over us?
