Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.

LOVE GOD’S COMMANDS
A poem and essay by ILMA
There’s a secret to peace and victory
It comes form loving God’s command and authority
When you constantly seek the Lord and obey
You will have strength and peace along the way.
God loves those who live in obedience and wisdom
He blesses them with joy and constant freedom
Love all of God’s instructions and your life will be good
He ensures protection to all those who obey and are faithful.

So many people in the world today live in a spirit of rebellion and pride. True believers who love to follow the laws of God are a novelty these days. Laws are usually made so that the laws who were made to and the law-making body will both be protected under such boundaries. God created many boundaries that we need to honor and respect. When we do not respect such boundaries or laws, we eventually get in trouble if not right at the instance that we defy it.
We were all created in God’s image and when God made all these commands for us to follow, it is for our own good. The bible says that if we want to live in peace and stay out of trouble, we need to follow and love his commands or instructions. It protects us from stumbling.

HEARING GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS Poem Devotional
May 28

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go, whether to the right or to the left.” – Isaiah 30:21(NLT)
HEARING GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you have a regular conversation with the Lord?
It is rewarding to connect with him and give him laud
Just like your earthly relationships need time and devotion
The Lord also longs for your faithfulness and deep connection.
As you grow in your intimacy with your heavenly father
You will easily hear God’s voice and his command to love others
He will tell you which way to go, whether to the left or to the right
He will lead you to the path that leads to peace and an everlasting life.

I started to talk to God since I was seven years old. It was him who made me survive and later on thrive the adversities I went through at a very young age. I didn’t realize how deeply connected I was with him until I re-committed to him and became a born again Christian. The Holy Spirit have been teaching me all along since that day I committed to him at age seven. I didn’t read the bible until I was in my late twenties. It was amazing to know that what I’ve been studying now have been whispered in my heart by the voice of God.
PRAYER
Thank you Lord for allowing me to hear you daily.

When was the last time you heard God’s instructions?

DO AS GOD SAYS Poem Devotional
March 3
So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. – Luke 6:46-47(NLT)
DO AS GOD SAYS
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you know what the Lord says?
Do you take time to seek his word, obey and pray?
The Lord our God wants us to do what he commands
It is for our own good when he convicts and reprimands.
Do as God says and he will fulfill all his promises
He wants us to live with integrity instead of compromises
Seek the Lord with all your heart and follow his instructions
When you do, he will bring you close to redemption.
When my son was a little boy, I would always give him incentives when he did something I told him to do. Some of the rewards I gave him were additional bedtime stories, more cuddle times or picnic treat. I had a chart that he looked at when he finished a little chore. He gets a star for it and it made him happy to collect such rewards after doing what is expected of him. The bible tells us that God is like a father to us. He expects us to do what he says. He rewards us with blessings and protection.
PRAYER
Lord, let me follow you always.

THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL Poem Devotional
February 27
If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. -Deuteronomy 28:13
THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL
A poem and essay by ILMA
What makes one the head and not the tail?
If you listen to God’s command, you’ll smoothly sail
Pay careful attention to his commands and obey
God’s word will free you from the enemy’s ways.
You will always be on top and never at the bottom
The Lord ensures that you discern beyond human reason
Protect yourself from sufferings, failure and misery
Seek the Lord in all your ways and you’ll have victory.
Do you ever wonder how some Christians are blessed with a good life and the others are struggling or defeated? What is the secret of those who live victorious lives? Why do they have bounty and overflow from God? There are many Christians who are saved but still live in bondage to sin or strongholds.
The bible says that if you listen and carefully obey the Lord’s commands, you will be the head and not the tail and will always be on top and never at the bottom. I am sure that the secret to a victorious life is to listen and follow God’s commands.
PRAYER
Lord, make me obedient to you always.
REFLECTION
Why is obedience the key to victory?
