Mark out a straight path for your feet: stay on the safe path. Don’t get side tracked. Keep your feet from following evil. – Proverbs 4:26-27(NLT)
A STRAIGHT AND SAFE PATH
A poem and essay by ILMA
Whenever you choose the crooked path to life
You begin to divert and lose God’s light
Mark out a straight path for your feet
Stay with Jesus and you’ll be far from defeat.
Don’t get side tracked, keep away from evil
When you abide in Christ, it angers the devil
Fix your eyes on Jesus and you will be brave
Keep a pure heart and God will make you safe.

Have you ever planned to go somewhere ahead of time? When going on a camping or a vacation, I usually plan ahead on the easiest route to take. With technology advancement, google maps and other navigation devices have made people’s travel easier. They may not always be foolproof but they can guide you to your destination. It is beneficial if you know the place you are going to rather than just relying on these devices’ direction. When we depend on these navigation technologies too much, it can divert us from relying on the Lord’s leading. Sometimes the world will tell us to choose a certain path that draws us away from what God is teaching us. Fixing your eyes Jesus will bring you to the straight and safe path to him.

PRAYER
Lord, keep me safe in your truth.
REFLECTION
Why is total surrender to God the best way we can stay on track towards heaven?

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. -Psalm 32:8(NLT)
GOD’S SUPERVISION
A poem and essay by ILMA
If you are a believer, you are being watched
The Lord shines his light upon your path
He will advise you and lead you to his righteousness
He will never allow you to be trapped in wickedness.
God promises protection and comfort for his children
He will never abandon them until they reach heaven
Our heavenly Father will show us the best pathway in life
Always choose the way he wants you to go and focus on Christ.

Do you remember how much your parents hovered and watched over you when you were a very young kid? Your dad or mom probably won’t let you out of their sight. This is the same way God watches over his beloved children. He cares for them so much that he oversees everything they do. Unlike some parents who can become overbearing and controlling, God allows us to make the choices with his loving supervision. If we decide to choose the wicked path, he still watches over us and allows us to experience the consequences of our decision to live out of his will. He sometimes uses these painful experiences to teach us and make us learn patience and endurance. You are never alone if you are a believer.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for watching over me all the time.
REFLECTION
How does God’s supervision affect the life you live?

FILLED WITH LOVE Poem Devotional

The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. – 1 Timothy 1:5 (NLT)
FILLED WITH LOVE
A poem and essay by ILMA
Is love the center and focus of your life?
Do you do everything under God’s light?
The word instructs us to be filled with love
It is a mandate that comes from God up above.
The purpose of Scriptures is to safeguard our hearts
It reminds us to have a clear conscience and to trust
The word teaches us to walk in love and faith
It protects us from ruining our lives and fate.

Some believers do not realize the importance of staying in God’s word regularly. Because of the noisy and corrupted world we live, it is very challenging to stay focused on God. The enemy has used “busy” ness to distract and waste our time with trivial and worthless things.
The bible says that Scriptures’ purpose is to instruct us to guard our hearts, stay pure and build up our faith. What do we have to do as Christians to stay in a relationship with God? Think of someone you love deeply. Won’t you do anything to spend much time with them? Why would it be different with God?
PRAYER
Lord, show me how to walk in love daily.
REFLECTION
What unloving ways do you need to give up to walk in love faithfully?
