THE GOOD GARDENER
A poem and essay by ILMA
God the Father is like the good gardener
He plants seeds and ensure they are watered
He sees to it that they get all the nutrients they need
He plants them where they would thrive and breed.
When weeds invade the garden of our heavenly Father
He uproots each of them that wants to take over his garden
He sorts out all those that he didn’t’ intend to be there
He cares for all that he planted and watches their progress.

Have you ever gardened or even take care of one plant? If you have, I am sure you understand how much care is needed for that plant to grow. I always loved trees and meadows and gardens but where I originally came from, the Philippines, we didn’t have much space to mostly have a garden. I lived in the city so it was very congested. My first boyfriend got me interested in plants and fishes in aquariums. As early as a young teenager, I have always been caring for houseplants and fishes or sometimes birds. I remember an old friend was amazed how I cared for fishes, birds and plants. When I moved to Canada, my 20 -year old plants were still alive. God uproots any weeds from his
people to ensure his will transpires.

UNIFYING ELEMENT IN THE BODY Poem Devotional
December 3 The Power of God’s Word
He makes the whole body fit perfectly. As each part does its own special work. It helps the other parts grow so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. – Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)
UNIFYING ELEMENT IN THE BODY
A poem and essay by ILMA
A man vows to marry his wife and become one
Believers commit to be united with God’s Son
Married people have roles to carry out for their love to grow
Just like each of the members of the body of Christ has to sow.
The unifying element in the church is the love of the Lord
Without love, no one can be victorious and soar
Every believer has their own special work to accomplish
When each faithful servant does his part, the church will flourish.
What makes a relationship, an organization or a church successful? Why are there marriages that end up in divorce or separation? Why have some companies made it to the top and others closed down? There must clearly be a unifying element that makes a relationship or some companies prosper.
The bible tells us that “love” is essential in all relationships and in all organizations. Each part of the body of Christ has a role given to them to accomplish so that there will be spiritual growth in the church. That’s why God commanded us all to love.
PRAYER
Lord, help me walk in love.

THE SECRET OF GROWTH Poem Devotional
October 16 The Power of God’s Word
Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. –Colossians 1:10 (NLT)
THE SECRET OF GROWTH
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you live a life of honesty and purity?
Do you seek God’s word and never compromise integrity?
Are your actions and choices geared on following Christ?
Are you producing good fruits and staying in the light?
The way you live will gauge how you will grow

As you seek and follow God, you will reap his promises
You will get better and grow without making compromises.

A Christian’ secret to growth is based on living a life of honor and purity. If you live your life to please the Lord and faithfully seek him and follow him, you will harvest every kind of good fruit and mature as a believer of God.

HARVEST FROM FAITH Poem Devotional
Sept 15 The Power of God’s Word
Nor do we boast and claim credit for the work someone else has done. Instead, we hope that your faith will grow so that the boundaries of our work among you will be extended. -2 Corinthians 10:15 (NLT)
HARVEST FROM FAITH
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you boast when you have completed tasks and tests?
Do you ever claim credit for the work of someone else?
Have you ever imposed your way on someone and something?
Do you consider other people’s priorities and feelings?
When you work on your faith, your boundaries will grow
Your growth will extend to those you touch lives and sow
God’s kingdom will spread throughout the ends of the earth
You will reap a harvest that goes beyond this life and yourself.
Have you ever planted something in a pot like a plant or a flower? Isn’t it with expectancy that you wait for a tiny little sprout to come out of the soil? Then as you water and give it sunshine, you see it grow inch by inch. In a few days or week, you reap what you sowed.
The bible tells us to grow our faith so that we can extend the kingdom of God’s boundaries throughout the earth. We cannot boast or claim credit for someone else’s work, but work our way to increasing our faith.
PRAYER
Lord, inspire me to grow my faith.
