You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.
– 2 Corinthians 11:4(NLT)
UNCOMPROMISED TRUTH
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you do not seek God and his word
You are vulnerable to be corrupted by the world
If you happily put up with whatever anyone tells you
You will be blinded and pulled away from the truth.
Have a constant hunger for what will set you free
When you study God’s ways, you will clearly see
Whenever they present lies and wrong teachings
You can easily detect what is incorrect and missing.
The apostle Paul was lovingly warning the church in Corinth about many false teachings and teachers and prophets thriving during his time. The enemy is still so much at work in our current society. Satan deceives many people with twisted teachings that seem like the real thing. How can we protect ourselves from these counterfeits?
The bible warns us not to put up with false teachings. The only way we can discern a lie from the truth is by studying the bible. If we know it by heart, then we can clearly see the difference.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your guidance and love.
REFLECTION
How can you protect yourself from deception and lies?

July 29                                                                            The Power of God’s Word
I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.
–Isaiah 44:3 (NLT)
GOD’S PROMISE TO HIS PEOPLE
A poem and essay by ILMA
Believe in God and he will bless your life
Not only will he pour out his spirit on you and bring light
He will pour out water to quench your longing
He will help you in your difficulties and suffering.
God blesses his people and give them provisions
Those who are faithful will be granted revelations
The descendants of the people of God will be blessed
They will reap the promises God made and will have the best.
Do you realize that every blessing you have comes from God? Many people think that it is their own effort that led them to have good paying jobs or wealth. Unbelievers tend to focus on glorifying their abilities, skills, talents, gifts and wealth. They do not know the truth and they believe in lies that keep their lives away from God. The people of God on the other hand are granted discernment and revelations from his truth. The bible says that God will pour out water to quench the thirst of his people and give them his spirit and blessings.
PRAYER
I thank you Lord for all your provisions.
REFLECTION
Why do we need to know God’s promises to the faithful?

PLEASING AROMA TO GOD Poem Devotional

June 1 The Power of God’s Word
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
–Ephesians 5:2 (NLT)

A poem and essay by ILMA
When you live a life full of love
It will give pleasure to the father up above
Jesus loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice
His act of love is a pleasing aroma to God that sufficed
It was this greatest act of surrender that saved us from sin
Redemption was granted when he submitted to God’s will.
Do you know that smell is a very powerful sense? It usually brings us lots of memories. When I went to trauma therapy, my doctor told me that the sense of smell is one of the senses that manifest memories. When I smell peanut butter and grape juice, I recall my grade school days because I usually have them for my snacks in school. It brings me memories of my best friends in grade school.
The bible tells us to walk in love and follow Christ’s example of offering himself as a sacrifice. This act was a pleasing aroma to God. He wants us to emulate Christ who lived in obedience and submission to his father’s will.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to obey and submit to your will.
REFLECTION
How can we walk in love and obedience in this very chaotic world?
