HOW PRECIOUS IS YOUR STEADFAST LOVE!
Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God
Before his eyes.2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes
That his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
3 The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
He has ceased to act wisely and do good.4 He plots trouble while on his bed;
He sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.
5 Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens,
Your faithfulness to the clouds.6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD.
7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house,
And you give them drink from the river of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
10 Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
And your righteousness to the upright of heart!
11 Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
Nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.12 There the evildoers lie fallen;
They are thrust down, unable to rise. – Psalm 36: 1-12

Transgression refers to presumptuous sin. To transgress is to choose to intentionally disobey; transgression is willful trespassing. Iniquity is more deeply rooted. Iniquity refers to a premeditated choice; to commit iniquity is to continue without repentance. When we confess and repent our sins, we are recipients of God’s steadfast love, which is so precious. We can only be able to walk in the light with such kind of unconditional love.

Restore me to the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels and they will return to you. – Psalm 51:12-13 (NLT)
PRAYER FOR RESTORATION
A poem and essay by ILMA
Lord, forgive me for all of my transgressions
Give me a repentant heart so I can have salvation
Restore me and free me from all my iniquities
Help me to focus on you amidst trials and adversities.
Renew my mind and heart so I can be free
Help me to seek your word so I can see
Bless me as I humbly repent and confess
Bring me back to you and never digress.

When a calamity has just destroyed a house, it takes a lot of time to actually deal with the damages. We clean it up first and take an inventory as to how much loss the disaster brought about. Then we sit down and calculate how we are going about repairing against what our budgets can afford. After the declaration of the state of the catastrophe, sometimes it takes a while before we can go through the motions of the restoration. We go through a state of shock and some people stay long in the point and they become immobilized by the trauma. Going through a calamity is just like being beaten up by the enemy. In Psalm 51, David prays for restoration after many years of unconfessed sins.
PRAYER
Lord, give me a contrite heart.
