I want you to show love not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings. – Hosea 6:6(NLT)
A HUNGER TO KNOW THE LORD
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you desire to have a deep relationship with Christ?
Does your life become a reflection of God’s light?
Do you hunger and thirst for a spiritual intimacy?
Do you crave to know him more daily?
Do you show love not just by burnt offerings?
He wants you to love more than anything
The Lord reveals himself to those who hunger for him
He will fulfill his promises to them who are free from sin.

King David was someone who has a heart for seeking God. He, among all the bible characters have a hunger to know the Lord longed much to be intimate with him. God chose this man because he cried out to him. Though he sinned much and was weak, God still chose him to be part of Jesus’ lineage. David’s honesty, humility and dependence on God is clearly depicted in the book of Psalms. He bares his whole heart just so he can understand the Lord’s plan when things do not go the way he thinks it should go. God didn’t choose a perfect person, but an ordinary man, who have an extraordinary hunger for him. God requires us to love much rather than burnt offerings and sacrifices.

THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING GOD Poem Devotional
Sept 8 The Power of God’s Word
Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. 1 John 3:6(NLT)
THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING GOD
A poem and essay by ILMA
Anyone who believes in God will have life
They will have victory over sin and have insight
Those who belong to him follow his commands
They want to God and he makes them understand.
Those who keep on sinning don’t know Christ
They disobey him and blindly follow their desires
Those who know God walk in love and embrace peace
They keep their eyes focused on him that’s why they see.
Many people live not knowing how much they are loved by God. They may have been deprived of love from their parents or their other relatives. This does not change the truth that even when we are unable to accept God’s love, he still wants to have a relationship with us. He loves us deeply and gave us free will to choose. He leaves it up to us to either give him back the love or turn away from him.
Peace and love are some of the privileges of knowing God. Anyone who continues to live in Christ, they will not sin. But those who keep sinning don’t know him or understand who he is.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to choose to love.

IF YOU REALLY KNOW ME Poem Devotional
Aug 17 The Power of God’s Word
If you had really known me, you would know who my father is.
– John 14:7(NLT)
IF YOU REALLY KNOW ME
A poem and essay by ILMA
If you really know me, you would follow
If you seek me, you would have tomorrow
If you love me, you will obey my father
If you want me, you will care for others.
Those who hunger and want a relationship with me
They will get healed from their brokenness and be free
Once you know who I am, you’d know my father
You are my disciple if you care for your sisters and brothers.
Have you ever desired to know someone deeply? The word love has been so misused and abused that many people hardly know what it really means. To love someone is to know him or her so intimately. How can people claim that they love somebody when they hardly know anything about that person? It is a shame to say you love someone and yet not have the desire to want to know him or her deeply.
The bible claims in John 14:7 that if we know Jesus, then we know who the heavenly father is as well. This verse tells us that the Son and the Father are one. Jesus represented God. He made him amongst us so we can know him.
PRAYER
Lord, give me a hunger to know you.
