NEWS THAT BRING GREAT JOY
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you feeling down these days?
There’s good news for us all today
Don’t worry about trials and sufferings
You are released from bondage and sins.
God has sent his only son, to bring great joy
He has given us reason to be glad and overjoyed
Praise the new born king for he will save us all
He brings new life from our old nature that is sinful.

Have you ever received a news that brought you so much joy? It was when my husband declared that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I have gone through a lot of painful relationships in my past. These traumatic experiences made me suspicious and mistrusting of other people’s motives. But when he assured me that he was true to his word, I was appeased.
There is good news that bring us much joy: the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the fulfillment of God’s promise for salvation and eternal life. He was born from the family of David in Bethlehem, in a manger. Though he was a king and owned everything, he came among the poor.

PRAYER
Thank you for your fulfillment of your promise for salvation.
REFLECTION
Why do you think God chose a poor family to be Jesus’ parents?

MESSIAH HAS COME
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you in some kind of trouble or challenge today?
Are you willing to confess and to change your ways?
The Messiah has come to all of us to save us from sin
He was born so we can all be renewed and be redeemed.
Fear not for you don’t have to be bound, he will set you free
You need not do it all alone, let him do it so you can see
He was born so you can rejoice and be glad daily
God sent Christ we can win the battle constantly.

I lived in fear for over four decades of my life. The enemy kept me thinking that I can overcome these fears by performing and being independent. He also blinded me and made me deny the fact that I was broken. I tried to fix myself thinking that if I did, I would be more valuable. I didn’t realize that God loves me anyway. It didn’t matter what I do or don’t do.
God loves us so much that he gave Jesus so we can be set free and win the battle against the enemy. Jesus is born, fear no more.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for the greatest gift of Jesus.

What fears do you need to lift up to the Lord?

But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.

LIFE BY THE POWER OF HIS NAME
A poem and essay by ILMA
Have you experienced challenges, failures or defeat?
Scriptures were written so that you can learn to win
The words of God focuses on Jesus, the Messiah
When faced with trials, do you run to Him or cry out?
Believe and you will have life by the power of his name
Live by his grace and you will get over your shame
The Son of God came so that you will have power
By believing in him, you will make the devil cower.

There were many years of my life that was wasted by thinking that it was me who have control over things and situations. I relied so much on myself and have totally forgotten that without Christ, I won’t have anything. Life without Jesus was a very difficult and daunting task, but when I accepted him as Lord of my life and my Messiah, I was transformed. I think it was because I was given discernment by the Holy Spirit how to deal with the same situations in a way God wants me to. Scriptures were written so we can have life by the power of his name.
PRAYER
Thank you for transforming me Lord.
REFLECTION
What’s the difference of a life committed to Christ and an unbelieving life?
