PSALM 119
17 Deal bountifully with your servant,
that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
19 I am a sojourner on the earth;
hide not your commandments from me!
20 My soul is consumed with longing
for your rules at all times.
21 You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones,
who wander from your commandments.
22 Take away from me scorn and contempt,
for I have kept your testimonies.
23 Even though princes sit plotting against me,
your servant will meditate on your statutes.
24 Your testimonies are my delight;
they are my counselors. – Psalm 119:17-24

PSALM 119 OPEN OUR EYES O LORD
A poem inspired by this psalm by ILMA
Lead us Lord to have a constant longing for your word
Let us never wander away from you and be consumed by this world
Open our eyes O Lord, so that we may discern the truth from your law
Do not let our nature hinder us to see your view and always follow
Give us eyes that see and ears that hear your voice
Let us never take for granted each time you call us
May our hearts be longing to serve you faithfully
May we meditate on your words constantly
Give us discernment so we can see what is unseen
Help us to gather only treasures that lead to heaven.

REFLECTION
• Why do we need to humbly ask the Lord to open our eyes to discern his ways?
