PSALM 125 TRUST IN THE LORD AND BE IMMOVABLE
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the LORD surrounds his people,
from this time forth and forevermore.
3 For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest
on the land allotted to the righteous,
lest the righteous stretch out
their hands to do wrong.
4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good,
and to those who are upright in their hearts!
5 But those who turn aside to their crooked ways
the LORD will lead away with evildoers!
Peace be upon Israel! Psalm 125:1-5

THE SECRET TO PEACE AND STABILITY by ILMA
When someone gives his total trust in the Lord
They are like Mount Zion which can never be moved
Just like Jerusalem is surrounded by mountains
God’s people are constantly watched and protected.
The Lord never allows wickedness to overcome the righteous
For they will receive the fulfillment of all his promises
They only need to constantly abide in him and they are assured
He gives deliverance and salvation to those who are pure.
If you find yourself turning away from righteousness
You will lose your strength and be bent on wickedness
You will begin to waver and become unstable
Peace will leave your heart and you will love evil.

REFLECTION
• How can a believer lose his strength and peace?
• Why is trust essential in any form of relationship, especially in our relationship with our Lord and Savior?

The psalmist gives us a picture of how the Lord surrounds his people likening it to the mountains surrounding Jerusalem. The picture of a fortress or a stronghold is what we can imagine in this psalm. God is a protector from enemies and infiltrators around us. He ensures our safety and protects us so we can experience peace even in the midst of everything that may distract or derail our walk with Him.

ADORATION: Blessings to the Lord. May He continue to shine His light on all of those who are faithful to Him. Glory to the Lord of hosts.
CONFESSION: Forgive me Lord each time I rely on my own strength, especially when I delude myself to think that I can do anything without you.
THANKSGIVING: Thank you for the strength and protection you provide all your people. Thank you that you provide even though we forget to ask at times.
SUPPLICATION: May all your people recognize the strongest fortress ever on earth, that is your love and faithfulness.

REFLECTION
• How can we remind ourselves of the fortress that God has given us each day of our lives, especially during times of attacks from the enemy?

The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.”

GOD RESCUES
A poem and essay by ILMA
What concerns do you have today?
Are you overwhelmed with what others say?
Is there someone who is doing you harm?
Pray and ask God help so you can be armed.
Put on God’s armor so you can stand firm against evil
God rescues his people to have victory over the devil
He will never allow anything to happen to his children
Have peace for he is reserving a place for you in heaven.

There is so much violence in our world today. I am sure that not all those who are experiencing abuse are bold enough to admit that what they are going through especially when the abusers are someone they love or have authority over them. This is the perpetual cycle of abuse. The abusers isolate the victims so that they don’t get out of the circle of violence. Those victims who do not seek help and come out in the open will find themselves in the trap because they are so used to it and they get used to be the victim because of the fear of change. The Lord rescues us, let us run to him.
PRAYER
Lord, protect me from violence.
REFLECTION
Why should we run to God for protection?
