GOD’S INTERVENTION poem devotional

For the time has come for me to avenge my people, to ransom them from their oppressors. I was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So I myself stepped in to save them with my strong arm, and my wrath sustained me.
-Isaiah 63: 4-5 (NLT)
GOD’S INTERVENTION
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you are oppressed or depressed
Don’t lose hope for your Lord will be there
Your heavenly Father will intervene in your situation
And you will be amazed at his unwavering devotion.
The Lord will avenge his people and rescue them
He will ensure their oppressors will be incriminated
The Lord will always step in to ransom his people
Run to your Creator and witness his faithfulness.

Intervention is defined as “to intentionally become involved in a difficult situation in order to improve it or prevent it from getting worse.” Most counselors, social workers, therapists or mediators fulfill this duty to ensure that their clients’ situations are confronted without much damage to them.
When we encounter much trials in life, sometimes God allows us to go through it for he might be teaching us something or strengthening our faith and endurance. In this verse from Isaiah, the Lord stepped up just at the right time to ransom his people from their oppressors. You may not understand why he allows suffering, but God is in control. In his perfect timing, he will rescue you.

PRAYER
Lord, help me to hold on to your promises during trials.
REFLECTION
When and how did God intervene in your suffering?

For the life of the body is in the blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible. -Leviticus 17:11(NLT)
PURIFICATION THROUGH JESUS’ BLOOD
A poem and essay by ILMA
If you want to be right with Jesus Christ
You must purify your entire life
Believe in the blood that was sacrificed for you
Christ’s blood canceled your sins and made you new.
For the life of the body is in the blood
The death of his Son was a proof of God’s love
Believe in the sacrificial offering of Jesus
And you will be guaranteed a life that’s victorious.

There were many years of my Christian life that I didn’t focus on the blood of Jesus and what it really did for me. I didn’t value the sacrifice that the heavenly Father did when he allowed his one and only son to die for us so we can be redeemed from our sins. If you are a parent, would you allow your child to be slaughtered as a sacrifice to ransom someone? I am quite sure that it would be heart-breaking to see your child die just so someone else will be free. Since the life of the body is in the blood, we need to remember that Jesus paid a high price to set us free.

PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your blood that gave me salvation.

What have you sacrificed in your life that made you right with God?

BOUGHT WITH A HIGH PRICE Poem Devotional

For God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
-1 Corinthians 6:20(NLT)
BOUGHT WITH A HIGH PRICE
A poem and essay by ILMA
God loves you so much that he values you immensely
He sacrificed his only Son; he loves you unconditionally
He bought you with a high price to save you from sin
Jesus Christ’s blood allowed you to be free
How are you going to repay his generosity?
Are you honoring your whole body?
He wants you to care for every gift he gave you
He cares when the world tarnishes your view.

Have you ever owned something that was bought with a high price? When my husband proposed to me, he gave me the option to choose one of the most expensive engagement rings. I felt valued and loved when he did that. I consider one of my paintings as a valued possession because it was a painting I did for a total of 100 hours, something I did painstakingly in a matter of time. I actually don’t want to part with it because it reminded me of the many hours it took me to finish the work. It may not be considered a masterpiece by many, but for me, it is one.
God bought you with a high price so you must honor God with your body. It cost his Son’s life to purchase our freedom.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for setting me free with Jesus’ blood.
REFLECTION
How can you repay God for the high price he paid for your sin?
