RESCUE WITHOUT LIMITS Poem Devotional

September 21________________________________________
He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him and He will continue to rescue us. – 2 Corinthians 1:10 (NLT)
RESCUE WITHOUT LIMITS
A poem and essay by ILMA
If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
No need to fear for any danger in your life
He is always there to rescue you anytime
Make sure you run to him at all times.
He can save you from any kind of danger
Be close to Him and don’t be a stranger
He rescues without limits to all his children
He will never abandon you until you reach heaven.
________________________________________When I was about nine years old, there was a big earthquake that shook the Philippines so badly. I remember waking up in the middle of the night being rocked on my bed. I shared a bunk bed with my brother and I was on the top part, so I felt the shaking more than him. Because most people were asleep, massive loss of lives was inevitable. Among the 270 people who died, 268 of them were buried alive in a building that collapsed, the Ruby Tower. Of the 261 injured, 260 were from the Ruby Tower as well, some of whom died later on. The search and rescue operations involved around 6,000 volunteers.
The bible tells us that he rescues without limits those whom he loves and we need not fear.

PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your boundless love that makes you rescue me without limits.
REFLECTION
What’s the basis of God’s unlimited rescue?

GOD’S INTERVENTION poem devotional

For the time has come for me to avenge my people, to ransom them from their oppressors. I was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So I myself stepped in to save them with my strong arm, and my wrath sustained me.
-Isaiah 63: 4-5 (NLT)
GOD’S INTERVENTION
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you are oppressed or depressed
Don’t lose hope for your Lord will be there
Your heavenly Father will intervene in your situation
And you will be amazed at his unwavering devotion.
The Lord will avenge his people and rescue them
He will ensure their oppressors will be incriminated
The Lord will always step in to ransom his people
Run to your Creator and witness his faithfulness.

Intervention is defined as “to intentionally become involved in a difficult situation in order to improve it or prevent it from getting worse.” Most counselors, social workers, therapists or mediators fulfill this duty to ensure that their clients’ situations are confronted without much damage to them.
When we encounter much trials in life, sometimes God allows us to go through it for he might be teaching us something or strengthening our faith and endurance. In this verse from Isaiah, the Lord stepped up just at the right time to ransom his people from their oppressors. You may not understand why he allows suffering, but God is in control. In his perfect timing, he will rescue you.

PRAYER
Lord, help me to hold on to your promises during trials.
REFLECTION
When and how did God intervene in your suffering?

THE RESCUER Poem Devotional

April 20________________________________________
Then call on me when you are in trouble and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.
-Psalm 50:15(NLT)
THE RESCUER
A poem and essay by ILMA
Is there something that troubles you today?
Are you so discouraged by what people say?
Does grief or pain overcome your whole being?
Run to the rescuer and he will bring you healing.
Summon Jesus when you are in distress and very weak
He promises to deliver you from any situation, just speak
Call the name above all names and he will come to you
He will give you strength, courage and change your view.

According to an article written by Kara Pendleton on how long on average it takes for a police to respond to a 911 call, as of 2013, the reported national average for police response was 11 minutes. Not many cities ‘advertise’ their response times. Of those that have numbers that have gone public, the most recent data shows that emergency calls dispatched through 911 are not generating the quick response times the public would like. According to the latest Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) data (2008), police response times when violent crimes were called in ranged from under 5 minutes to longer than one day. Can you imagine how much life was at risk when there is no response right away?
The bible asks us to call on Jesus and he will instantly rescue you.

PRAYER
Lord, let me always call on you when I am in trouble.
REFLECTION
What happens when we don’t call on God during trouble or difficulties?

THE GREATEST RESCUER Poem Devotional

January 24________________________________________
For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies.
-Psalm 54:7(NLT)
THE GREATEST RESCUER
A poem and essay by ILMA
What troubles do you need to bring to the throne?
Are they concerning a struggle or does it involve someone?
Are there people persecuting you because of Jesus?
Do you run to the cross to ask help and sing praises?
God is our strength, our rescuer and defender
He is faithful to the body of all believers
Don’t lose hope when you are attacked
If you run to Christ, you will have no lack.

To rescue is defined as to save someone from a dangerous or distressing situation. The Hebrew word for rescue is “yasha” which means deliverance, salvation, safety, welfare. The Hebrew meaning covers a bigger act of saving someone. Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.” Deliverance in the Bible is the acts of God rescuing his people from peril. Have you ever been rescued by someone from a dangerous situation?
I come from a country where there is so much disasters and catastrophe. A rescuer is a novelty in the Philippines because almost everyone experience danger, so we rescue our own selves.
The bible tells us how God is the greatest rescuer for all believers. He delivers us from all kinds of evil, strongholds and sins that keep us in bondage. He frees us from suffering.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for rescuing me from all my sins.
REFLECTION
What has God freed you from lately?
