I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. -Isaiah 57:15(NLT)
REVIVAL OF THE HUMBLE AND REPENTANT
A poem and essay by ILMA
To those who have been crushed and humbled
Their spirits will be restored and they won’t crumble
The Lord will always be there for the heartbroken
He revives the courage of those who are downtrodden.
Those who were once lost but have repented
They will be protected and will be rejuvenated
Jesus Christ died so that the oppressed will be saved
The Lord’s power will help them once again to be brave.

Whenever we are oppressed and discriminated, we usually react very negatively. We either get angry or keep a grudge inside us or we start making vows that we will never allow anyone again to put us down. This is the natural reaction we humans respond with in times of being treated unjustly. How does God want us to respond to such injustice? What would Jesus do when he was treated unfairly? 1 Peter 1:6-7 commands us to be truly glad when we have trials and sufferings while we are here on earth because it shows that our faith is genuine.
Jesus Christ is the restorer of the crushed spirit of the humble and he revives the courage of those who have contrite hearts. All of those who are unjustly treated will have a revival.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for dying for the oppressed and broken hearted.
REFLECTION
What manifestations of revival have you experienced after much pain and suffering?

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you. Psalm 51:10-12(NLT)
PRAYER FOR RESTORATION
A poem and essay by ILMA
Lord, I feel tired and overwhelmed by adversities
The enemy has kept me busy with much activities
My peace was compromised and I am feeling helpless
Reveal to me why I feel so much emptiness.
Create in me a clean heart and renew my loyalty
Do not take away your Holy Spirit from me
Restore me the joy of your salvation and help me obey
I plead you to give me heal and strengthen me each day.

There are days I wake up in a very sad mood. It usually happens when I get very busy with many activities and when I don’t have time to reflect at the end of the day. I usually journal and have a conversation with God each morning when I wake up but sometimes don’t have time to pray before bedtime because I am still finishing a project or chore.
The bible summons us to pray for restoration and cleansing of our hearts. It is important to remember that we must never grieve the Holy Spirit so we can hear what he is teaching or convicting us with.
PRAYER
Lord, I need you especially when I am weak and overwhelmed.
REFLECTION
Why is it important for us to have quiet moments with God daily?

The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost.” -Joel 2:25(NLT)
PRAYER FOR RESTORATION
A poem and essay by ILMA
Lord, I am worn out from life’s challenges
Will you give me strength to face changes?
Some days are more difficult than other days
Will you give me hope to sustain each and everyday?
You said in your word that you’ll give back what I lost
Give me a new perspective as I look and focus on the cross
Heal me and restore my mind, body, soul and spirit
Help me to have victory and never again be beat.

When someone experiences pain or loss, it is challenging to go on with life with the same joy and peace one use to have. I lost so many things in my life. I lost my childhood, my beloved grandfather who was the only one who understood me and gave me a love for nature. I lost my purity, my identity during a divorce, my freedom to speak my own thoughts and feelings and my careers and ability to earn a decent living. These are many loses that I never even realized had made much impact in my life. It changed the way I saw the world and it dragged me to the pit of anger, unhappiness, rebellion and bondage to sin. I thank God that he has pulled me out of that abyss. He restored me and made me new.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for bringing light into my dark pit.
REFLECTION
What can you do to get back the loses you have had over these years?
