If another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. – Galatians 6: 1(NLT)
ONTO THE RIGHT PATH
A poem and essay by ILMA
As believers of Jesus, we are called to help others
Reach out to those who are deceived sisters and brothers
Show them back to the godly path gently and humbly
Be genuinely concerned for them persistently.
Be careful that you are not falling into the same trap
The enemy cunningly steals our progress and want us back
Focus only on Jesus so that you will continue to grow
Walk in the love of others so you can have God’s overflow.

The Bayanihan spirit is a Filipino custom which means community spirit. This custom is traced back in rural areas, where the town’s people were asked especially the men to lend a hand to a family who will move into a new place. A traditional Filipino house called Bahay Kubo is moved lifted up on a pole by about 13 men. The Bayanihan spirit shows Filipinos’ concept of helping one another most especially in times of need without expecting anything in return.
The bible tells us to be accountable to the body of Christ. We must help our brothers and sisters who are overcome by sin gently and humbly bring them onto the right path.
PRAYER
Lord, give me courage to give help to those who are stumbling in sin.
REFLECTION
Why are we accountable for our sisters and brothers?
