The message is very close at hand. It is on your lips and in your heart. And that message is the very message about faith that we preach. – Romans 10:8(NLT)
MESSAGE CLOSE AT HAND
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you aware of the good news that saved you?
If you believe in Jesus Christ, your mind will be renewed
The message is close at hand, no need to search far
It is on your lips; declare what is in your heart.
Believe and say that you accept Jesus as your Savior
This message needs to be preached with fervor
Remember to speak it out and live under his grace
You’ll experience much joy if you continue to be amazed.

We have heard people say Good News or the Message. What is the message that the Gospel preaches? Why do we need to be aware of it and spread it?
Many years of my life was spent following religious rituals that didn’t really focused on the message of the cross. Following these traditions and not heeding the Holy Spirit’s prodding to choose righteousness have opened the door for the enemy to keep me in bondage to idolatry, pride and other sins.
John 19:30 described the last word of Jesus. He said after tasting the sour wine soaked on a sponge, “It is finished.” This is the message. The work of salvation was finished when he died on the cross.
PRAYER
Thank you for dying for me so I can be free.
REFLECTION
How often do you speak out the message to others?

October 30                                                                           The Power of God’s Word
The message is very close at hand. It is on your lips and in your heart. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. – Romans 10:8,9 (NLT)
CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH
A poem and essay by ILMA
The message is very close at hand
It is on your lips; it need not be grand
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
You will be using the most powerful sword.
The word of God is a weapon against the enemy
If you use it regularly, you will have victory
Believe in your heart that God raise Christ from the dead
It will reap a harvest of peace and a life that is Spirit-led.
I was a believer for so long and yet I didn’t know the power of confessing with the mouth. Confession was a term in my former religion to go to a priest and tell him all about my sins. Until I studied the bible thoroughly, I got revelations from the Spirit that what I needed to confess was the truth from God’s word.
The bible says that the Message is close at hand. It is on our lips and in our hearts. It tells us the power of confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to memorize your words.
REFLECTION
Why is verse memory essential in a Christian’s life?
