They will be my people, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. – Malachi 4:1(NLT)
GOD’S SPECIAL TREASURE
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you realize how important you are to Christ?
He cherishes every detail in your life
He wants to protect and ensure your salvation
He pleads you to listen to his word and be in relation.
God considers you as his child, his treasure
He wants you to obey and bring him pleasure
Like any other parent, he spares those who are obedient
Seek his will and follow it and he will show you his radiance.

When you join a club or an organization, one thing that people will want is the guarantee that they will grow or gain something out of being part of it. This is why we become members of a group. When I joined a cycling club back in the Philippines, I did so in order to improve my cycling skills and challenge myself to beat my own record and be better at it. I was the only woman cyclist in a fifty-member club. I felt special knowing that I can be protected and gain skills from this club.
The bible says that we are God’s special treasure and that he promises protection to those who obey him.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for making me part of your family.
REFLECTION
Do you treasure yourself as God treasures you?

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. -1 Timothy 4:8 (NLT)
TRAINING FOR GODLINESS
A poem and essay by ILMA
Your body needs exercise and training
Just as your spirit needs God’s correcting
Developing muscles in your body is essential
It honors the Lord and is reverential.
Training for godliness will lead to discipline
It promises benefits such as overcoming sin
It reaps a harvest of fruits from the Holy Spirit
It brings us closer to heaven when we do it.

I go to the gym regularly with my husband at least twice a week and we go for walks and bike as often as the weather permits. I was a cyclist for over two decades, regularly biking an average of 30 km/day and 100 km/weekend. I talk to the Lord while I biked and would enjoy bike breaks to magnify God in nature. I wrote love letters to God for over 30 years now. I feel incomplete whenever there are days that I missed. In those 30 years, I think there were very few odd occasions that I missed.
The bible tells us the importance of training for godliness which is much better than physical training. It is essential to take care of the body, but spiritual training should be first in hierarchy. There is much benefits to it in this lifetime and in the life to come.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for my body, soul and spirit.
REFLECTION
What is the condition of your spirit?

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED Poem Devotional

crawford lake 2013 049January 11
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone.
–Galatians 6:4 (NLT)
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
A poem and essay by ILMA
Whenever you work on something
Pay careful attention to what you are doing
Do your best to make the job well done
Then you won’t compare yourself with anyone.
God created each one uniquely different
There is no need to feel insecure and insufficient
Whenever you seek and do what pleases God
You are gratefully exulting and giving him laud.
I had been a very insecure person for the first two decades of my life. I was very shy and felt undeserving or incapable of doing things. It became a problem as I grew up in my teen years because I always felt rejected and minimized by friends and family. I became an approval addict and my own best critique. It blew my view of the world in a very limited way and made me fearful of failure, rejection and criticism.
The bible tells us to pay careful attention to the work we do because it will give us the satisfaction of a job well done and will stop us from comparing ourselves with others or living up to expectations beyond our capacities. Focusing on God when we do things free us from approval addiction.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for my uniqueness.
REFLECTION
How do you deal with differences with others?
