The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. -1 Corinthians 10:13-14(NLT)
HANDLING TEMPTATIONS
A poem and essay by ILMA
When you are presented with temptations here and there
Be joyful, the Lord will always strengthen you to recover
He will not allow it to be more than you can stand
He will show you a way out so you can withstand.
When the enemy entices you, God may allow it
He knows his children will always have His Spirit
Be at peace for you will always have his direction
You have the power to win over any temptations.

When we are being tempted, our natural tendencies are to succumb. It is supernatural to handle and overcome temptations. Only in God’s power and grace can we win over it. Many Christians make the mistake of conquering sin by themselves without God’s help. So, a lot of times, we fail. Sometimes we even brag and compare, which temptations are greater than what we are experiencing. We boast that we conquered it and won over sin but it only by God’s power we can do any of these. God will never allow temptations beyond what we can handle. He shows us a way to endure it.

If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning. -Romans 14:23(NLT)
HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOU ARE SINNING
A poem and essay by ILMA
Are you bothered by a decision to do evil?
It surely is a mark of the work of the devil
When you start to focus on self preservation
You will start to do prioritize your own satisfaction.
If you do anything you believe is not right
It is one sign that you are not winning the fight
If you continue to ignore the Holy Spirit’s convictions
You will be easily fall into Satan’s tactics and temptations.

How do we know if we are sinning? The bible defines sins as breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God (1 John 3:4). Deuteronomy 9:7 also says that sin is rebelling against God. Adam and Eve introduced to us all the concept of sin when he desired to be like God in Genesis 3:5. The desire to be like God, knowing both good and evil was the origin of sin. It is the disobedience to get out of what God provided for them. Sin is missing the mark that God has given us. Whenever we decide satisfy our own human desires, we become easy target for the enemy to entice us to sin. The apostle Paul says that if you do anything you believe is right, you are sinning.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to never want to be separated from you and your will.

-1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)
WHEN ONE IS TEMPTED
A poem and essay by ILMA
When faced with challenges and trials
You do not have to give in to failure
When one is drawn to succumb to evil
Run to God and plead that he reveals.
The temptations in your life are expected
God won’t let you to be tempted
He allows only what you can handle
There is always a way out set by the Father.

Have you ever been tempted beyond your ability? When I was very young, I used to easily succumb to sin. Then later on, because of strict authority figures in my life, I became very legalistic and a stickler to rules. However, it became worse because I was only following for the sake of not being blamed or to avoid being caught. There was really no genuine contrition, just making myself look good in the eyes of my family so that I won’t lose the love that is so attached to how much I follow their demands.
The bible says that all of us are tempted. Even Jesus was not exempt from temptation. God is always faithful to give us only what we can handle.
PRAYER
Lord, give me a pure heart to resist temptations.
REFLECTION
What can temptations do to our soul?
