“Why don’t you talk to me?” Pilate demanded. “Don’t you realize that I have the power to release you or crucify you? Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. –John 19:10-11 (NLT)
UNLESS GOD GIVES YOU POWER
A poem and essay by ILMA
Do you really believe that you have power?
Unless God gives it to you, you won’t be a victor
He alone blesses you and gives you strength
You can only be righteous because of the Son he sent.¬¬¬¬
Because of his grace and mercy, you were saved
No one has the right to boast and claim
He has the sole power to do what needs to be done
Run to the throne; bring honor and glory to his Son.

There were many years of my Christian life that I was ignorant of things regarding the character of God. I believed many lies. I believed for many years that I can work to be saved. I thought that being good will help me to enter the kingdom of God. Satan twisted the truth and made me think that I could do what only God could do, to redeem myself.
The bible tells us that unless God gives us power, we won’t be able to do anything. Everything that happens to us comes from his mercy and grace. He allows things to happen for a reason.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for your love for me.
REFLECTION
What do you enjoy right now that comes from God’s grace and power?
