Ears to hear and eyes to see, both are gifts from the Lord. -Proverbs 20:12(NLT)
GIFTS TO HEAR AND SEE
A poem and essay by ILMA
The Lord gave us ears to hear and eyes to see
He wants us to discern and to continue to be free
You were given two ears so you can listen more
And also two eyes so you can watch and explore.
Only the Lord can make you understand
Without him, you won’t be able to withstand
Use your heart in order to be able to see clearly
Keep your eyes focused on him so you’ll have victory.

In Mark 8, Jesus fed four thousand from seven loaves of bread and a few fish. It was one of those miracles that many people witnessed. In verses 17-18 Jesus questions the disciples because they were getting influenced by the hardened hearts of the Pharisees. They became unable to hear what was really being said and fail to see things with pure hearts. Their faith began to waver and they argued why they haven’t brought any bread at that time. Jesus confronted and warned them of losing their faith despite all the miracles that they have witnessed.
We are cautioned to keep our hearts pure many times in the bible because when the heart is hardened, we will fail to see and hear God’s voice.

PRAYER
Lord, keep me pure so I can be able to hear and see what you are teaching me.
REFLECTION
What hinders you from seeing and hearing?

AS YOU REST Poem Devotional

He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. – Job 33:15(NLT)
AS YOU REST
A poem and essay by ILMA
As you lie down in your bed to sleep
God sorts your problems while you rest
Keep still and know that he is there
Don’t live in anxiety and fear.
As you rest and replenish your strength
The Lord straightens everything that is bent
As you relax and trust him, he will give you answers
He wants you to have faith for he is the best provider.

There are many bible characters that have been given visions and prophecies while they sleep. Joseph, the husband of Mary was given instructions to marry his fiancée even though she was pregnant already. Daniel was able to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream which made him part of the king’s counsel.
Sadly, in our modern age, we sometimes get little time to sleep or rest. There are so many stimulants to give us time to relax. Even planning a vacation becomes work in itself and fail to be a source of replenishing the mind and body. Researchers say it does seem clear that sleep is key to the brain’s ability to reorganize itself — a feature called plasticity.
I think that God designed us to sleep so he can help us solve our issues and regenerate our minds, bodies and spirits.

PRAYER
Thank you Lord for giving us time to rest.
REFLECTION
Why is sleep or rest crucial in our existence?

VISUALIZE ANSWERS TO PRAYER Poem Devotional

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. – Mark 11:24(NLT)
VISUALIZE ANSWERS TO PRAYER
A poem and essay by ILMA
God gave us the ability for imagination
You can use it and create visualization
If you pray for anything and believe it
You will receive a picture from God’s Spirit.
Visualize answers to prayer; it has much power
By using it, you are making the enemy cower
Rehearse them in your mind and your request materializes
Use your brain’s creativity and you will continue to be amazed.

Visualization is defined as the formation of a mental image of something. Hellen Keller once said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” I was very much struck with this statement from her. Isn’t the one without vision worse than a blind person? Habakkuk 2:2 says that we must write the vision so it will be seen and read. What happens when we actually visualize through mental images or words? It helps our brain keep that image filed in our hearts and focus our whole being on that thing. This is why we are asked to guard what is in our minds. Like an artist has already a vision before he actually paints, he creates a masterpiece. When you pray for something and visualize the answers you asked for, you are actually making it happen.
